19th Century English Regency Convex Girandole Mirror with Eagle and Dolphin

This magnificent English Regency giltwood convex girandole mirror, circa 1800, featuring displayed eagle with hanging tassels, opposing dolphins and six candle arms with gilt foliage and crystal adorned boboeches. The original convex mercury mirror is set in a frame of foliage and gilded ball ornaments. When the six candles are lit, the mirror will illuminate an entire room.
The mirror is exhibition quality and an excellent period example of early 19th century craftsmanship. There is a comparable one in the Colonial Williamsburg DeWitt museum collection.
