This grand British Chinese Chippendale hall table is made of solid mahogany with exceptional hand carved legs and frieze, 18th century. The sideboard is in the chinoiserie taste. The single board mahogany slab top has a molded edge and is 1 inch thick by 78 inches wide by 33 inches deep. The Blind Fretwork across the frieze and sides are ‘Gothic Fret’. The legs are mortise and tenon into the frieze with the pegs under the fret of the leg block. The fluted legs are very similar to the set of six library chairs made for Brocket Hall.
