19th Century American Mahogany Reading / Library Chair

This Regal Mahogany leather reading / library arm chair can be used with or without the reading stand and was made in America in the early 19th century. The American Reading Arm Chair has a solid mahogany frame with an adjustable reading stand that can be used on either the right or left arm. The mahogany reading stand has a mahogany book box featuring an adjustable easel back book rest with a removable bookshelf and brass page holders. The book box has a removable brass candle swing arm that can be used on either side of the reading box. The book box rest on a solid brass removable swing arm that can be use on either arm. The Library Chair has a Grand solid mahogany frame with a deep carved Regency Crest flanked by two finials. The tufted Leather Back is flanked by two Classical turned stiles that terminate into Sabre legs on the back. The front legs are solid turned mahogany in an urn and ring style with original brass casters. The solid mahogany arms have a canon ball hand rest with a brass receiver to accept the Reading stand. The arm also has a generous Leather arm rest. The Leather seat has flame mahogany seat rails on all four sides.
