Details

This monumental mahogany breakfront bookcase was made in England in the mid 19th century and features four glass doors with Gothic arches and designs on each panel. The bottom sections are decorated with Chinese lattice framed doors. The doors are solid Cuban Mahogany with paneled backs. The piece has a label that states ‘Harvey Nichols & CO Depository, Bournemouth.’ There have been restorations to the wings of this piece. The paneled glass doors can be seen in the book, "The Life and Work of Thomas Chippendale," on page 41 picture 64. The Chinese lattice framed doors can also be seen on page 41, picture 65.
