New Hope Plantation Desk
America, circa 1835

41.5"h x 5' 10.8"w x 35.5"d

This walnut plantation desk
was made in New Orleans
about 1835 and possibly
built and retailed by the noted
cabinet making firm of the
McCracken brothers. There are
similarities between this desk
and a labeled McCracken desk
at Melrose Plantation in Natchez,
Mississippi. This piece descended in
a New Orleans branch of the Landry
family until about 1995.
