Mahogany bedstead (3-5)
Jamaica, 1810-30

Because of the rarity of Jamaican pre-Victorian antiques, especially four-poster beds, restoration is warranted if done in a manner sympathetic to what would have been the original form. This bed, probably 1810-30, based on its headposts has been given queen cedar rails and a reproduction headboard hand carved in the period manner. Spirally reeded posts are often considered quintessentially
West Indian.
